Cargo ships docs in the US

Walking with Giraffes

National Geographic, Showtime and Lionsgate have acquired factual titles about giraffes, abortion and a legendary video arcade respectively from New York-based distributor Cargo Film & Releasing.

Nat Geo Wild has taken global broadcast rights for Walking with Giraffes, which explores the threat of extinction giraffes face and the implications of their demise. The film was directed by Ashley Davison for Iniosante Productions.

Showtime, meanwhile, will premiere Maisie Crow’s Jackson on US television following a deal with Cargo Film & Releasing.

The film goes inside the last abortion clinic in Mississippi and provides an intimate look at reproductive healthcare with people in the Deep South who stand on both sides of the debate.

Finally, Lionsgate has picked up The Lost Arcade for its Comic-Con HQ SVoD service in the US and several territories internationally.

Directed by Kurt Vincent and produced by Irene Chin, the film is a portrait of the legendary Chinatown Fair, a video arcade that opened in the 1940s and became an underground institution for generations of New Yorkers.
