Canal+ veteran heads to Fox

Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution (TCFTVD) has appointed a Canal+ veteran to run its French office.

Manuel Alduy has been named MD of TCFTVD’s Paris office, where he will take charge of distribution of Twentieth Century Fox programming across pay, basic and free TV, as well as subscription VoD.

In his new role as senior VP of sales and development he will also help develop new opportunities in local programming and will report to the head office in LA.

“Manuel is a highly respected executive in the television marketplace who has an equally creative and intelligent approach to deal-making in our ever-evolving television business,” said Gina Brogi, exec VP of worldwide pay TV and SVoD at TCFTVD.

Formerly head of Canal OTT at France’s Canal+ Group, Alduy led the group’s web and mobile division.

Prior to this he was head of cinema and TV series acquisitions, leading rights negotiations and programming strategy for Canal+’s pay TV operation. He also held the position of head of French cinema acquisitions at Canal+.

His departure is the latest of many from the French pay TV group since Vivendi chairman Vincent Bolloré took control of the broadcaster last year.
