Canal+ in France is one of a slew of TV partners for ESPN’s annual sports event X Games, to be held across North, South America and Europe in 2013.
Television coverage of the first X Games, held in Colorado at the end of the month, will be seen in 184 countries, reaching more than 430 million homes, according to ESPN.
Along with Canal+, deals have been made with Rede TV in Brazil, TV3 in Spain and ProSiebenSat.1 in Germany to air live or highlighted coverage of the various sports events.
ESPN has also finalised multiple initial syndication deals in markets such as Denmark (DR), Italy (Sky Italia), Canada (TSN), China (Shanghai Media Group) and Japan (NHK), among others.
The six-events held over 2013 will feature eight sports and 26 disciplines, including women’s skateboarding and BMX freestyling.
