Canal+ mines more gold drama

Ouro was shot in French Guyana

French pay TV network Canal+ has begun production on a second season of Ouro, its drama series about the world of gold trafficking.

The 8×52′ season has begun shooting and is due to wrap up filming at the end of April 2018.

The series follows a 20-year-old geology student who travels to French Guyana for an internship but quickly becomes embroiled in the dangerous but potentially lucrative world of gold trafficking.

The Canal+ original was created by Fabien Nury and coproduced by Mascaret Films in France with Shine Films, Nicolas Coppermann and Ariel Askénazi.

The first season premiered in France in January. Newen Distribution has sold it to broadcasters including SBS in Australia, OnDirectTV in Latin America and RTL Crime in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
