Canal+, La Cabane, Cake grow forest toon

Mush-Mush & the Mushables

French pay TV broadcaster Canal+ has partnered with local producer La Cabane Productions and UK kids’ distributor Cake on a new CGI animation series.

Mush-Mush & the Mushables is being aimed at a preschool audience on Canal+ kids’ channels Piwi+ and Canal+ Family.

VRT-Ketnet is in discussions over coproducing the series in Dutch-speaking Belgium, while RTS in French-speaking Switzerland and RTBF-OUFtivi in French-speaking Belgium have confirmed their intention to buy the show.

Cake joins the project as a coproducer and international distributor and is already discussing the project with buyers.

Production on the 52×11’ show, which follows the life of a community of forest creatures, will begin in early 2018 and the series will be delivered in 2019.

La Cabane Productions, set up in 2015 by Perrine Gauthier and her partners, is working on the project with Belgian prodco Thuristar.
