Shortform toon Piggy Tales: Third Act was spun off from The Angry Birds Movie

UK-based children’s TV outfit Cake is launching two new series starring characters from The Angry Birds Movie at Mipcom.

Shortform toons Piggy Tales: Third Act (35×1’25”) and Piggy Street (30×1’25”) will both be available to buyers in Cannes.

The programmes, part of Angry Birds spin-off Piggy Tales, follow the release of The Angry Birds Movie, which launched earlier this year and grossed over US$347m at the box office worldwide.

Cake agreed a deal with Rovio Entertainment to represent the Finnish company’s Angry Birds animated series and its two spin-off shows last year.

The shows, based on the video game series, have been picked up by broadcaster including Netflix, Discovery Kids Latin America, Globosat in Brazil and Atresmedia Spain.
