MIPTV: Channel 5 in the UK has commissioned a new animated series from Absolutely Cuckoo, the UK prodco behind hit toon Waybuloo, C21 can reveal.

^[1]Wissper (52×7′) follows a regular and sometimes quirky little girl who can talk to animals, sensing their feelings and hearing their voices. Soon, the little girl’s home transports her to exotic places, including tropical rainforests, oceans and the Arctic.

It comes from British creator Dan Good and his team at Absolutely Cuckoo, the animation studio that produced Waybuloo, which has now been shown in over 80 countries after making its debut on CBeebies in the UK in 2009.

Jessica Symons, head of children’s at C5, said: “Wissper has incredible charm and her adventures are bound to ignite the imaginations of young audiences.”

Dan Good, MD at Absolutely Cuckoo, added: “The series has been our new baby for some time now and we can’t wait to deliver our super-cute animal whisperer to C5 and preschoolers everywhere!”

Wissper is scheduled to begin airing on C5’s preschool block Milkshake! next year. Other original series set to make their debut on C5 include Wanda & the Alien, Toot the Tiny Tugboat, Bradley & Bee and Pip Ahoy!.
