Channel 5 in the UK has commissioned a three-part factual series on the country’s recent battles with extreme weather conditions.
Britain vs The Big Freeze (3×60′) is being produced by Special Edition Films with Mira King serving as executive producer.
The programme will examine the effects of recent harsh winters on Britain’s transport, homes and businesses. It will also follow the dedicated teams employed to keep the country moving – be they emergency plumbers, gritters or plough drivers.
It has been commissioned by the head of factual entertainment at Channel 5, Steve Gowans, and will air in January.
