C4 sets up Puppy School

Channel 4 in the UK has ordered a series in which dog owners enrol in a bespoke school to help them learn how to raise a puppy.

Puppy School (working title, 4×60′) will chronicle the puppies’ first six months while three expert trainers work on the behaviour of the owners and their pets.

The series was ordered by formats commissioning editor Lee McMurray and head of formats Dom Bird, who is due to leave the broadcaster in September.

It is being made by Glasgow-based independent prodco Red Sky Productions and will be executive produced by Jane Rogerson and Ross Harper.

“Puppy School will be an entertaining and informative format but, at its heart, it’s a view into the lives of a diverse mix of people from across the country, at a challenging or defining moment for them,” said Rogerson.
