C4 renews vows with Wife, Man

Channel 4 in the UK has picked up the fifth season of US legal drama The Good Wife from CBS Studios International, and renewed a new sitcom.

The Good Wife will return to C4 sister channel More4 early next year, while the deal also includes digital catch-up rights to the CBS drama.

In related news, the UK broadcaster has commissioned a second season of its comedy Man Down, written by and featuring British stand-up Greg Davies.

Season two of the show, in which Davies plays a hapless teacher with a dysfunctional family life, will begin production next year. Avalon TV makes the series.

Meanwhile, C4 has confirmed former Big Brother host Davina McCall will present its upcoming live primetime series The Jump, which makes its debut early next year. The format sees 12 celebrities compete nightly in a series of winter sports. Indie prodco Twofour is making the show.
