Channel 4 in the UK has commissioned a rebooted version of its primetime gameshow format The Million Pound Drop for its daytime schedules.
Endemol Shine-owned prodco Remarkable Television will work on 60 episodes of The £100k Drop with Davina McCall returning as host.
The format, sold internationally as The Money Drop, first aired on C4 in 2010 and has since been sold into 54 territories, including Germany, Russia, Australia and the US, where it aired on Fox.
In each round contestants are given seven multiple choice questions. They must stake the £100,000 they begin the show with on whatever answer they believe to be correct, or spread it around if they are unsure. Money placed on incorrect answers drops through the studio floor.
Syeda Irtizaali, commissioning editor for entertainment at C4, greenlit the latest run which will air on C4 in 2018.
