C4 plans Undateables threesome

The Undateables is produced by Betty TV for Channel 4

Channel 4 in the UK has ordered another three seasons of disability-themed dating series The Undateables, as well as a Christmas special.

The show is produced by All3Media-owned prodco Betty TV and aired its sixth season in January, which averaged a consolidated audience of 2.49 million viewers and an 8.83% share over its five-week run.

The seventh season (5×60′) is in production and will transmit in the autumn, with a 1×60′ special slated for Christmas followed by an eighth 4×60′ run and a ninth 5×60′ season.

The show follows people living with a disability through the highs and lows of finding love. Each series also includes catch-ups to see how previous daters’ love lives have progressed.

It has also spawned international remakes, with broadcasters including Sweden’s Kanal 5 and France’s M6 ordering local versions.
