C4, ITV’s Maddigan adorns Little Gem

UK unscripted producer Little Gem has appointed a former executive at broadcasters ITV and Channel 4 (C4)  as its head of entertainment.

Kate Maddigan

Kate Maddigan’s remit at Little Gem will see her developing and creating new programming. She starts on April 16.

Maddigan was previously a commissioning editor at C4 and worked on shows including construction competition format Lego Masters and Five Star Hotel for sibling network E4.

Before that she worked across comedy and entertainment for UK commercial broadcaster ITV, with credits on Big Star’s Little Star and The X Factor spin-off Xtra Factor.

Ben Gale, Little Gem’s MD, said Maddigan’s “knowledge, energy and ideas make her an outstanding creative.”

“We’re doing more in the entertainment space and Kate is the perfect person to help us accelerate our growth,” he added.

Maddigan said: “I am very much looking forward to growing their blossoming entertainment slate and being part of such a creative team.”

Little Gem was set up in 2014 by Gale and Natasha Bondy.
