C4 builds Landmark series

UK broadcaster Channel 4 has commissioned NBCUniversal-owned prodco Chocolate Media to make a new restoration series that follows a leading building-rescue charity.

The series will focus on the Landmark Trust’s two major restorations – Belmont and St Edward’s Presbytery – and the history behind the properties in the organisation’s portfolio.

Landmark Trust experts Dr Anna Keay, Alastair Dick-Cleland and John Evetts will tell some of the stories behind the projects.

It’s the latest in a raft of factual commissions from the UK terrestrial, which is also working on Murder (working title) from Films of Record.

The 3×60’ series follows a police investigation into the horrific killing of a teenager, from arrest right through to trial. Airing without a voiceover, the factual show will be shot as a drama from the point of view of the police officers.

John Barrowman’s Small Animal Hospital will also return to Channel 4. Produced by Tern TV, the series originally aired in daytime but will now be re-versioned for prime and be renamed Pet Hospital (working title).
