The Fried Chicken Shop: Life in a Day first aired on C4 earlier this year as part of the channel’s Cutting Edge factual strand. C4 has now picked it up for a 3×60′ series, again to be produced by Mentorn Media.

Rooster Spot in Clapham, South London will again be the doc’s setting, with C4 promising “to delve deeper into the world of fried chicken, the staff who serve it and the huge variety of customers who buy it.”

More than 2.1 million viewers tuned into the original broadcast in February and the doc was also the most tweeted-about TV show in the week it aired, according to C4.

Emma Cooper, commissioning editor at C4, said: “The Fried Chicken Shop really struck a chord with the nation. The team worked hard to make a film that felt significantly fresh and innovative for us to want to serve up more of it.”
