Bunim/Murray adds Israeli format

Reality TV specialist Bunim/Murray Productions in the US has picked up a format developed in Israel called King of the Island.

The adventure-reality competition format offers a “brand new game mechanism” in the castaway genre, claimed its Tel Aviv-based developer Vivalet Media.

“The US has always been the Holy Grail for content creators around the world and will continue to be so for the foreseeable future,” said Michael Rothschild, founder and CEO of Vivalet Media.

In related news, Scandinavian production company Baluba has acquired rights to Vivalet’s Family Cage Fight format and is now preparing the show for production in Sweden.

Families must overcome fun, scary and amusing challenges in order to break out of their cages and win huge prizes in the entertainment show.
