Bredin to exit Guru Studio

The executive VP of content and strategy at Canadian animation producer Guru Studio is leaving after more than a decade with the company.

Mary Bredin

Mary Bredin is exiting the Toronto-based firm to focus on IP development and storytelling as a consultant, Guru has announced.

During her time at Guru, Bredin has helped lead the expansion of the business into original content with shows such as Justin Time, Dinopaws, True & the Rainbow Kingdom and, most recently, Big Blue.

Her departure follows recent additions to Guru’s management team including Kara Lord Piersimoni as VP of production, Jonathan Abraham as senior director of sales and Daniel Rattner as senior director of marketing.

The company is led by president and executive creative director Frank Falcone, who said: “Mary has been an instrumental part of the growth of the studio. She has been a tireless champion of diverse perspectives, unique voices and, most of all, heartfelt, quality creative. We wish her well in her future endeavours as Guru continues on to its next stage of growth.”
