Brazil, France copro goes to Arte

Cultural network Arte France has picked up a one-off documentary coproduced by French and Brazilian companies.

Brazil’s Cine Group and Alegria, the French prodco behind multi-award winning feature doc 5 Broken Cameras, have teamed up on Brazil, Brazil.

The 90-minute film tells the story of the country’s recent history as experienced by one family. Cine Group holds the rights for Brazil and Latin America, while Alegria deals with the show in Europe. The rights are shared equally elsewhere.

The doc is set for release in November and will air on GNT in Brazil, as well as Arte in France following a sale completed at Mipcom this week.

Cine Group and Alegria signed their coproduction agreement this time last year in Cannes. Cine Group is part of the Brazilian Association of Independent TV Producers.
