Boomerang flies into Jungle Bunch

Turner Broadcasting’s Boomerang channel has acquired French animated comedy series The Jungle Bunch to the Rescue as it begins to target a family audience.

The CGI toon will air on the pay TV channel in Europe and Southeast Asia after the broadcaster agreed a deal with its Paris-based distributor PGS Entertainment.

Turner Broadcasting announced that it would be relaunching Boomerang as an all-animation, youth-skewing channel with a line-up specifically designed for family co-viewing earlier this month.

The roll-out of the new look channel, which will also sell advertising for the first time, will begin between now and the end of the year with the first launch in Latin America already completed and the Australian version set to kick off on November 3.

Produced by Tat Productions and Master Films, the first season of The Jungle Bunch has been sold in more than 180 territories to broadcasters such as Rai in Italy, TVE in Spain, ABC in Australia.
