Bomanbridge sells to India, Japan

Broadcasters across Asia have secured a raft of shows from Singapore producer-distributor Bomanbridge Media, following the company’s trip to Mipcom in Cannes last week.

In India, Fox Life has licensed travel and beauty programme Latin Angels while Sun TV has acquired Nutri Ventures, an educational animated series on nutrition from prodco Nutri-Ventures.

Nutri Ventures has also been sold to Mediacorp’s Okto and Toggle channels in Singapore and Amarin TV in Thailand.

Meanwhile, Japanese broadcaster TV Asahi has bought the rights to FBI Files: Polly Klaas Kidnapped and Diagnosis Unknown: New Epidemics, produced by New Dominion.

A pan-regional deal has also been struck with Malaysian channel Li TV, which has taken Cake Walk (13×60’) from D360 and Food Truck Face Off from Peace Point Entertainment for its South-east Asian feed.

In addition, Bomanbridge has picked up Mongolian rights for telenovelas La Impostura (Telemundo) and Eva Luna (Venevision). The firm has also sold 65 hours to Thailand’s Amarin TV, including gameshow Splatalot (52×30’), produced by Marble Media and D360.

Earlier this month, Bomanbridge hired Lakshmanan Subbiah, a former executive from FremantleMedia Asia, and opened offices in South Korea and Mongolia.

The Korean office is headed by Gyeong-Min Moon, previously a senior acquisitions manager at TCast, a joint venture with Fox Korea. Bomanbridge’s expansion is thanks to funding from Hera Capital, a South-east Asian investment firm.
