Blue Ant unveils biggest Mipcom slate

Six-part lifestyle series Sarah Off The Grid

The distribution arm of Canadian broadcast and production group Blue Ant Media is taking its largest slate ever to Mipcom this month, running to over 800 hours of new content.

Blue Ant International, which revealed its first children’s catalogue for the market last month, is also taking factual entertainment, specialist factual, documentaries and digital studios series to Cannes.

Sarah Off The Grid (6×60’ HD), a lifestyle series with celebrity designer Sarah Richardson, is produced by Canuck prodco Alibi Entertainment for cablenet HGTV, while paranormal title UFOs: The Lost Evidence (6×60’ HD) is from US-based Megalomedia for American Heroes Channel.

Blue Ant shows include wedding planning series Crazy Beautiful Weddings (10×30’ HD), produced for Makeful and UP TV, while home renovation show Lake Docks & Decks (8×30’ HD) aired on Cottage Life and GAC.

Blue Ant’s 4K natural history series include NHNZ’s Orangutan Jungle School (10×60’ 4K and HD), which was produced for Love Nature, as was Wildest New Zealand (5×60’ 4K and HD.)

Other series added to the wildlife and nature category include WildBear Entertainment’s Deadly Australians (4×60’ 4K and HD) and Australia’s Hidden Islands (4×60’ 4K and HD), originally produced for Love Nature.

Solange Attwood, senior VP for Blue Ant International, said: “The quality of our newest titles from top-tier storytellers is as a direct result of our global content partnership and expanded coproduction slate which remain key priorities.”

It has been a busy six months for Blue Ant, which acquired David Haslingden’s Racat Group in May, appointed a WME-IMG exec in June and unveiled a global networks arm in September.
