Blue Ant sells factual into Germany

Discovery has picked up UFOs: The Lost Evidence

MIPTV: The distribution arm of Canada’s Blue Ant Media has sold 140 hours of factual content to broadcasters in Germany including Discovery Communications and ProSiebenSat.1.

Discovery has taken in excess of 80 hours of Blue Ant International content, including the first three seasons of Our House Media’s Paranormal Survivor and a pre-sale of season four, which is currently in production.

Discovery has also taken Haunted Case Files and Scariest Night of my Life (both 13×60’) plus Airport Below Zero (10×60’). The package is rounded out by UFOs: The Lost Evidence (6×60’), produced by Meglomedia.

ProSiebenSat.1, meanwhile, has added 35 hours of programming, including three seasons of renovation series Brojects and its spin-off Brojects in the House. It has also taken Warships, a 6×60′ docuseries that follows the daily lives of military people at sea, and Extreme Collectors (14×30’).

German public broadcaster ZDF has picked up Canada: The Story of Us (10×60; HD), produced by Bristow Global Media, which features CGI and a cast of celebrity interviews that take viewers inside Canada’s biggest stories in celebration of the country’s history and diverse identity.

ZDF has also acquired Valley of Flood & Fire (3×60′, 4K and HD), which was created in partnership between Love Nature and Plimsoll Productions as part of their 4K natural history project, Camp Zambia.

RTL has also picked up two Love Nature original series for its German pay TV channel in the shape of Wild Israel (5×60’) and Wild Survivors (3×60’), which takes a look at the relationship between animals and their environment.

German factual specialist Autentic has snapped up The Cowboy (2×45’, HD) for its Spiegel Geschichte channel. Produced by Network Entertainment, the series gives viewers a ride through the American West as immortalised by some of Hollywood’s greatest stars such as Clint Eastwood, John Wayne and Steve McQueen.

Finally, German- and French-language cultural channel Arte has gone for Love Nature’s original documentary Alaskan Summer (1×60′).
