Blue Ant lights Architect’s Birthday Cake

MIPCOM: Canadian distributor Blue Ant International has acquired rights for new original series Birthday Cake Battle, along with over 130 hours of other programming from Architect Films.

Blue Ant International will take cookery competition Birthday Cake Battle (10×30’), created for Makeful in Canada, and entertainment format Lakefront Luxury (10×30’), for the Cottage Life channel, to market for the first time at Mipcom.

In Birthday Cake Battle, contestants compete to make a child’s dream birthday cake a reality. Lakefront Luxury sees couples search for and purchase their ideal lakefront home.

Other titles from Toronto-based prodco Architect on the slate include Sugar Showdown (34×30’) and Decked Out (50×30’). The former is a competition series where bakers battle to create the best dessert with a mystery ingredient for a cash prize. Decked Out follows designer/carpenter Paul Lafrance as he soups up backyard decks for clients.
