Blue Ant appoints for channel distribution

Blue Ant Media in Canada has struck its first carriage deals for its Love Nature and ZooMoo networks in EMEA and appointed a London-based exec to oversee them.

As part its EMEA launch, Love Nature’s 4K channel has begun airing on Ooredoo TV’s UHD linear service in Qatar, featuring natural history content both on-air and on-demand.

In Nigeria, MyTV has also begun broadcasting Love Nature as well as ZooMoo, a children’s nature channel with 500 hours of original content.

To support Blue Ant’s debut in the EMEA region, the Canadian producer, distributor and channels operator has appointed Chiara McKee as VP of EMEA, kids and global networks.

McKee will lead the company’s EMEA channel distribution sales, operations and marketing from the company’s London office, reporting to Ward Platt, CEO of kids and global networks at Blue Ant.

Blue Ant’s roster of channels includes Love Nature 4K, Love Nature HD, ZooMoo HD and the animated and live-action YouTube gaming channel Arcade Cloud.

McKee was previously director of Love Nature International, where she led marketing and brand partnerships for Love Nature’s international linear channels and streaming video platform outside of Canada. McKee has also held roles at Trace TV and NBCUniversal.

“Love Nature and ZooMoo’s expansion into EMEA showcases the demand that nature fans of all ages, all over the world, have for premium natural history content and stunning original programming,” said Platt.

The news follows a series of appointments in October designed to help grow the company’s reach in EMEA, and the launch of its global networks arm last year.
