Beyond packs Big Coat for Cannes

Some 60 hours of unscripted programming from Toronto indie Big Coat Productions are making their way to Mipcom, after a representation deal was forged with Australian firm Beyond Distribution.

The distributor has added home renovation series Love It or List It and cookery challenge series Chef Worthy to its factual slate, the former selling as 26 hours or half-hours and the latter as 13 half-hours.

Love It or List It airs in Canada on the W Network, as does Chef Worthy. The two shows add to Big Coats’ design series for HGTV, My Parents’ House (52×30′ + 1×60′), which Beyond already distributes internationally.

“Big Coat is a prolific production company that makes high quality, universally appealing factual programming with a heart,” explained Fiona Crago, general manager of Beyond, in which FremantleMedia acquired a 20% stake last year.
