Betty links up with Lune

Discovery-owned UK prodco Betty has signed a first-look deal with Lune Media that will see the Australian producer make local versions of its formats.

London-based Betty’s catalogue includes The Undateables and The Fabulous Baker Brothers, which both aired on Channel 4 in the UK.

Lune Media, established by Leonie Lowe in 2013 and based in Sydney, will now pitch local versions of Betty shows to Australian broadcasters.

Sophy Walker, head of operations at Betty, said: “Australia is our most successful secondary sales market both in terms of revenue and the number of programmes sold. We’ve always found the Australian market to be lively and engaging with a genuine enthusiasm for our shows.

“This new partnership with Lune comes at a time of increased demand from broadcasters for local versions of international formats.”
