BET targets youth with talkshow

Viacom’s BET Networks is partnering with Warner Bros’ Telepictures Productions on a new daily talkshow fronted by 20-year-old singer, actress and activist Keke Palmer.

The Keke Palmer Project (working title) is set to premiere on the network this July and will target millennials with topics including social issues, pop culture, fashion and sex.

Palmer will become the youngest talkshow host in television history, Viacom claimed.

Judge Greg Mathis, of reality court show Judge Mathis, will serve as an executive producer of the series through his prodco Mathis Productions, which will work in association with Telepictures.

The show will join long-running daily talk programme The Wendy Williams Show and recently acquired talkers The Queen Latifah Show and The Real on BET.
