Canadian broadcaster Bell Media has appointed a leading music exec to take a newly created role overseeing the company’s entertainment output.

Randy Lennox becomes president of entertainment production and broadcasting at Bell and will oversee the firm’s English-language independent and in-house entertainment productions.

He will lead Bell’s teams across specialty, pay TV and digital media, reporting to Bell Media president Mary Ann Turcke, who arrived in April to replace Kevin Crull.

Turcke said Lennox, who has been in the music industry for more than two decades including a stint as president and CEO of Universal Music, arrives at a “pivotal time as the media industry experiences significant change.”

She added that Lennox would work across TV, radio and digital, including building strategic alliances and tent-pole events for key brands.

Earlier this week it was revealed that the head of programming at Bell-owned network CTV, Phil King, had left as part of a restructure of its top management.
