BBCWW seeks South Africa format

BBC Worldwide (BBCWW) is looking for a new format to produce locally in South Africa after axing its own version of cookery show Come Dine With Me.

The format will be the second local production in the country for the commercial arm of the UK’s BBC. It will air across BBCWW’s channel portfolio, replacing Come Dine With Me South Africa, which will not be extended after its third season.

The ITV Studios-owned format debuted in South Africa in 2011 and aired on BBC Entertainment.

Joel Churcher, VP and general manager for Africa at BBCWW, said: “We feel the time is right to take this experience and seek new opportunities for a fresh, innovative local format for audiences to enjoy.”
