BBCWW hires Fox alum for scripted

BBC Worldwide Productions, the LA-based studios of BBC Worldwide North America, has hired a former Fox exec as head of scripted.

Matt Loze is taking the newly created position and reports to Matt Forde, executive VP of content production, sales and distribution at BBC Worldwide North America.

Loze was most recently senior VP of programming for Fox 21 Television Studios, working on shows including Burn Notice, Graceland and White Collar.

Prior to that, he headed scripted drama for Pearson North America (now Fremantle Entertainment), working on international coproductions. He also founded the television arm of Propaganda Films, where he helped to develop shows including Twin Peaks and Beverly Hills 90210.

Loze is now charged with implementing a scripted programming strategy that will focus on producing local versions of BBC and other British IP for digital and linear networks in the US.

Angie Stephenson, senior VP of scripted development, and Emma Strain, who recently joined as VP of comedy development, will report to Loze.
