Murdered by my Father (1×60′) has been written by screenwriter Vinay Patel and is being made by BBC Documentaries Production. The special explores the ‘honour’ killing of a 16-year-old girl by her father in a suburban British home.

BBC3 scored success last year with Murdered by my Boyfriend, the true story of young woman who fell in love with the wrong man, winning its star Georgina Chapman Best Actress at last month’s Baftas in London.

The youth-skewing channel has also commissioned a factual special called Professor Green on Suicide (1×60′, working title). Produced by UK prodcos Antidote Productions and Globe Productions, the factual special explores how Manderson was affected by his father’s suicide.

Both shows were greenlit by Damian Kavanagh, controller of soon-to-be online-only BBC3, and Elliot Reed, BBC commissioning editor of factual.
