BBC1 finds Remedy for Saturday evenings

BBC1 in the UK has commissioned a Saturday primetime gameshow from Argonon-owned Remedy Productions.

Ready or Not will see unsuspecting members of the public quizzed with a series of quick-fire questions to win money or prizes. In a twist on the traditional gameshow, the presenters will travel to public areas across Britain to surprise participants.

Kate Phillips, controller of entertainment at the BBC, commissioned the show, while Kalpna Patel-Knight is the commissioning editor.

The 6×30’ first season will be executive produced by Jim Reagan, head of Remedy Scotland, and Matt Tiffin, the company’s head of entertainment.

Remedy Productions, based in London, was founded in 2003 and has since produced more than 10,000 hours of programming, including content for BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5 and MTV.

The firm became part of super-indie production group Argonon in 2011, being one of the first to join the group. The show and its format will be distributed globally by Argonon International.
