BBC1 drives Ambulance again

Ambulance’s first season was a ratings hit on BBC1

BBC1 in the UK has ordered an expanded second season of factual show Ambulance from Endemol Shine-owned prodco Dragonfly.

The 8×60′ second run will give insights into front-line emergency medical teams, following the work of paramedics, controllers and call handlers.

The first season aired as a three-parter on BBC1 last year and focused on the London Ambulance Service. Two out of three episodes won their 21.00 slot, with the series achieving a peak audience of 4.81 million viewers and a 20.3% share of viewing.

Dragonfly is headed up by recently appointed creative director Richard Bond, who joined from Discovery-owned Gold Rush producer Raw TV last year.
