BBC unearths Pompeii special

BBC1 in the UK has ordered a one-hour special about Pompeii, featuring classicist and TV historian Professor Mary Beard.

Pompeii: Life Before Death has gained unprecedented access to a project to investigate and restore the ancient Roman site, using CGI technology to reveal what life was like in the town 2,000 years ago before it was buried in the eruption of Mt Vesuvius.

The show is being produced by Lion Television in association with At Land Productions, with Richard Bradley and Caterina Turroni exec producing.
