BBC returns to Red Rock

Red Rock

Red Rock is set in a police station

The BBC has picked up the second season of Irish drama Red Rock from distributor All3Media International.

The show is coproduced by Element Pictures and Company Pictures for TV3 in Ireland, where it made its debut in 2015, and is based around a busy police station in a fictional Irish harbour town.

Written by Peter McKenna (Doctors, EastEnders, Casualty, Holby City) and directed by Matt Carter (Holby City), the series is exec produced by Ed Guiney and John Yorke.

BBC1 and Amazon in the US picked up the first season earlier this year. The second run is set to debut on TV3 later this month.

Pat Kiely, TV3 group MD, said: “The decision by the BBC to acquire Red Rock for another season is a huge vote of confidence in the show and in TV3. It is also great recognition for the hugely talented production team, cast and crew.”
