BBC names acting daytime boss

The BBC has named an acting head of daytime following Damian Kavanagh’s appointment as BBC3 digital controller.

Jo Street, who has been commissioning editor for Daytime at the UK pubcaster, will take up the post in January and report to Charlotte Moore, controller of BBC1.

She is currently responsible for daytime and early peak commissioning for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Kavanagh left his role as controller of daytime last week to become digital controller of BBC3 ahead of its move online.

The permanent daytime controller position will be advertised early in the New Year.
