BBC format Tumbles into Romania

A Romanian broadcaster has become the first international destinations for BBC Worldwide gymnastics competition format Tumble, while a Chinese prodco has also optioned it.

BBCWW launched the show at Mipcom earlier this month and has now secured a deal with Pro TV parent CME Programming in Romania for a local version.

The shiny-floor format sees celebrities paired with professional gymnasts to put together routines and complete challenges in competition with one another.

The Romanian version will broadcast on free-to-air Pro TV in autumn 2015.

Meanwhile in China, United Media has optioned the format and is set to pitch the show to local broadcasters.

Five-time gold medal Olympic gymnast Nadia Comăneci, who is from Romania, sit on the judging panel for the UK version and was in Cannes earlier this month to launch the format internationally.
