BBC exec joins Comedy Central UK

Comedy Central UK has hired a BBC marketing executive to oversee its programming, scheduling and research.

Louise Holmes, currently head of marketing for BBC2, BBC3 and BBC4, will join the Viacom-owned network on November 25 as VP of programming.

She will report to Jill Offman, MD of Comedy Central UK and senior VP of international content for Comedy Central.

Prior to the BBC, Holmes spent four years at Discovery Networks Italy, where she led editorial for six channels in its portfolio, overseeing scheduling, commissioning, acquisitions, media planning and marketing.

Commenting on her appointment, she said she was keen to build on the success of recent Comedy Central UK originals such as Big Bad World and Seann Walsh World and to strengthen its acquisitions portfolio.
