Baz named RTS president

The UK’s Royal Television Society (RTS) has appointed Peter Bazalgette as its new president.

Bazalgette, a former Endemol UK chief creative officer and Sony Pictures Television non-executive chairman, takes over from Sir Robert Phillis, who has held the post since 2004.

BSkyB chief operating officer Mike Darcey has been elected chair of the board of trustees, while BBC chief operating officer Caroline Thomson has joined the board for the first time.
