Bagel & Becky join Teletoon

MIPTV: Corus Entertainment’s family and kids’ network Teletoon has commissioned animated comedy The Bagel & Becky Show, with BBC Worldwide (BBCWW) picking up global rights.

The 52×11’ series, which went into development in 2012, is produced by Canadian prodco Radical Sheep Productions.

Aimed at 6-11s, the off-beat comedy follows the neighbourhood adventures of Bagel the dog and Becky the cat, and is based on the book Bagel’s Lucky Hat by Dave Cooper. The series will air in Teletoon’s 2016/17 line-up.

John Leitch and Michelle Melanson Cuperus are exec producing, and the showrunners are Doug Hadders and Adam Rotstein (Inspector Gadget, Sidekick).

BBCWW has picked up worldwide all-media rights (excluding Canada) in a deal brokered by London-based Serious Lunch.
