Azteca tackles Can Do talent format

Mexican broadcaster Azteca has acquired rights to Israeli shiny-floor talent show I Can Do That! from distributor Armoza Formats.

The show, to be produced locally by FremantleMedia Mexico, challenges eight celebrities to choose an act to master in a week before they perform it live, with viewers deciding who’s best.

The format came from a co-development partnership between Armoza and Chinese broadcaster Jiangsu Broadcasting.

Russian broadcaster Rossiya 1 greenlit a local version of the show last month. This followed Italian pubcaster Rai commissioning a second season after the success of its local adaptation Si Può Fare!.

I Can Do That! has already been acquired by producers such as Endemol, Banijay and Shine for more than 15 other territories, including France, Spain, Portugal, Germany and Norway.
