Asia Pac pick-ups for Electus

Broadcasters including Fox8 in Australia and AXN across Asia have picked up a package of finished programming from Electus International.

Fox8, New Zealand pubcaster TVNZ and AXN have all acquired TNT reality competition series The Hero as part of Electus sales totalling 150 hours of content into the Asia Pacific region.

TVNZ and AXN have also taken 72 Hours, produced by Howard Schultz and Lighthearted Entertainment, which places contestants in the wilderness and gives them three days to not only survive, but also find a suitcase full of money.

Discovery in India will also air that series, and Meat Eater where host Steven Rinella tries to survive while living in the hunter-gatherer lifestyle.

Competition series King of the Nerds, produced by Electus for TBS, has gone to Network Ten in Australia, TVNZ and Turner Broadcasting in Asia.

Other deals include American Digger going to Discovery across Asia and 3 going to ABS-CBN in the Philippines.

The deals follow the sale of 100 hours to Foxtel in Australia earlier this year and format deals for Fashion Star in Vietnam and South Korea.

In related news, Electus International has promoted Cyrus Farrokh to VP of distribution.
