Argonon takes Penguin A&E to MipTV

Argonon International is taking three new UK factual properties to MipTV this year, including a show about a penguin hospital.

The distribution arm of super-indie group Argonon is taking Penguin A&E, 24 Hours to Save a Face and The Pusher to the Cannes market in April.

Penguin A&E (2×60’), from Remedy Productions, follows the daily workings of Cape Town’s SANCCOB Western Cape Centre, better known as the penguin hospital.

Channel 5 commissioned the show, which is executive produced by Sophie Wurzer-Williams and will air this spring.

Meanwhile, observational documentary 24 Hours to Save a Face gives an insight into the journey of a 17-year-old Ugandan seeking an operation to remove a 2kg tumour from his face.

The 1×60’ special, to air in the UK this spring, is another Channel 5 commission and is being executive produced by Transparent TV’s Jazz Gowans.

The Pusher (1×60’) follows ex-murder detective Tony Blockley as he reviews the cases of three young men who mysteriously drowned in the canals of Greater Manchester. The programme was commissioned for Channel 4, with Nick Godwin exec producing for BriteSpark Films.
