The Investigation Discovery channel in the US has set a date for Redrum, debuting the original crime series on January 15 in its 22.00 spot.
The series, as implied by the title, moves backward from the discovery of a murder victim to the act itself, revealing the killer and his or her motives along the way.
“We are always searching for innovative ways to tell our stories and keep our audience captivated,” said Henry Schleiff, president and general manager of ID. “Redrum brings a unique angle and to me, there’s nothing ‘better for change’ than literally flipping the script.”
The true crime series comes from Stephen David Entertainment (The Men Who Built America). Episodes will include interviews with family and friends involved in the murder, and in some cases with the killers themselves.
ID is promoting the premiere in partnership with grubwithus.com, offering viewers a chance to attend murder mystery dinner events in US cities including New York, LA and Chicago.
