Netflix has rounded off its Nordic expansion, launching in Norway and Finland, following its move into Sweden and Denmark earlier in the week.
The service will cost €7.99 (US$10.43) a month in Finland, NOK79 (US$14) in Norway, and SEK79 (US$12) and DKK79 (US$13.80) in Sweden and Denmark. Users will be able to trial the service free for one-month – and longer if they also subscribe to Spotify as part of a promotion with the music-streaming service.
For the Nordic versions of the service, Netflix has licensed content from Warner Bros, Twentieth Century Fox, Disney, Sony Pictures Entertainment, BBC Worldwide, CBS Studios, ITV Studios Global Entertainment, Shine International and Nordisk Film Distribution.
The roll-outs come ahead of US cable network HBO’s planned Nordic launch of HBO Go this month, and see Netflix going up against existing local OTT services Viaplay and Voddler.
