MIPCOM: UK commercial channel ITV1 is reviving iconic gameshow Catchphrase through a deal with distributor DRG.
An all-new 8x45′ season of the quizshow, last seen on UK TV in 2002, will air in primetime on Saturdays, although the launch date has yet to be revealed.
Coproduced by DRG and STV Productions, the show will feature a new set and 3D graphics, a “dynamic new end game” and a new host, Stephen Mulhern.
DRG, which unveiled the revamped format in Cannes this week, holds worldwide rights to the show across all TV and digital platforms, licensing and merchandising.
Andrea Jackson, DRG’s MD of acquisitions and formats, said more deals would be announced shortly.
