eOne hires GK alumni

MIPCOM: Entertainment One (eOne) has named a new senior VP of current programming for its television business, which includes AMC’s Hell on Wheels and CTV’s Saving Hope.

Debra Curtis has joined the Canadian producer/distributor to oversee its current programming slate, which also includes Rookie Blue on ABC and Shaw; Call Me Fitz on DirecTV and HBO Canada; and Rogue for DirecTV, The Movie Network and Movie Central.

Curtis comes from GK-TV, where she was VP of development. Her credits included sci-fi drama Continuum on Showcase. She also previously worked as VP of US current programming at Sony Pictures Television, where she was responsible for Damages, The Shield and Rescue Me on FX; and NBC’s Community, among other shows.

At eOne, Curtis will report to Michael Rosenberg, exec VP of US scripted television, and will be based in Los Angeles. She takes up her new role immediately.
