MIPCOM: Shine America’s new formats and production subsidiary Ardaban is launching its first reality series together with US prodco Leftfield Pictures.
The show, Treasure House, is an original format from Ardaban and uncovers hidden treasures in people’s homes followed by a competitive auction. Each week sees a family with the highest bid get an extra US$50,000 prize. Leftfield, of Pawn Stars, American Restoration and Counting Cars fame, is overseeing day-to-day production on the show.
Ardaban CEO Chachi Senior said Treasure House “has everything that viewers crave in a big reality competition series.” Senior was formerly co-president at IAC-backed Notional and has credits such as Chopped, Winsanity! and No Kitchen Required.
Brent Montgomery, Leftfield owner and founder, said: “Incorporating the element of competition is an exciting extension of a genre that remains compelling and popular with audiences around the world.” Launched in March 2012 by Shine America, Ardaban formats are produced in conjunction with Shine America and being distributed by Shine International here in Cannes.
