Broadcasters in Belgium and Norway have pre-bought Zodiak Kids’ latest cartoon, from French prodco Tele Images Productions.

Benelux network VRT and Norwegian kids’ broadcaster NRK Super are both onboard equine-themed The Ranch (26x26′, fka Secret Ranch and Mistral Ranch), which is set to debut on France’s TF1 on October 31. Distributor Zodiak has secured separate DVD rights deals in France and Germany.
The show is already set for French channels Teletoon+ and Equidia Life; De Agostini-owned Italian kidsnets DeA Kids and DeA Super; and German children’s pubcaster KiKa, following previous deals. It had been scheduled for an international debut next year but Zodiak will be in Cannes with the property in seven days’ time at MipJunior.
The show follows four teenagers that share a passion for horse riding and develop an attachment to an injured wild stallion that they nurse back to health at their animal rescue home.
In related news, Tele Images, TF1, Canal+, DeA Kids, French media authority the CNC and European media financier Media have co-developed an online game based on the show that will launch in the first quarter on 2013. The Ranch Online will allow children to build their own ranches, nurse horses and trade cards digitally.
