Former MTV Networks International chairman Bill Roedy has taken a non-executive directorship at the company behind children’s online social platform Moshi Monsters.

Roedy, who stepped down from Viacom-owned MTV at the start of last year after building the youth-skewing net into one of the world’s most successful television brands, will help East London-based Mind Candy as it expands globally, working with CEO Michael Acton Smith.
Besides the ultra-popular Moshi virtual world and myriad merchandising, Mind Candy is developing new brands and moving into more linear forms of entertainment through its on-demand platform Moshi TV and cartoon and film production.
“Mind Candy is a very impressive operation. Moshi Monsters is on the way to becoming a global tour de force. It will be an exciting ride, alongside the expert leadership of Michael and his team,” said Roedy, who also sits on the boards at various other organisations.
